Dr. Karen I. Fredriksen-Goldsen is the Principal Investigator of The National Health, Aging, and Sexuality Study: Caring and Aging with Pride over Time, the first national project to study health and well-being among lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender older adults and their caregivers. She is a Professor at the University of Washington School of Social Work, Director of Healthy Generations Hartford Center of Excellence, and Director of Institute for Multigenerational Health. She is a Gerontological Society of America Fellow, Hartford Scholar, and Founder of the GSA Rainbow Research Group. Co-Investigators on this pioneering project are Drs. Charles Emlet, Hyun-Jun Kim, Anna Muraco, Chengshi Shiu, Amanda Bryan, Sunghee Lee, Karina Walters, and Shilpen Patel, MD. Other contributors are Charlie Hoy-Ellis, Susan Barkan, Jayn Goldsen, Alli Sturges and Sarah Jen.
